Feb. 10, 2021: A Contractor’s Quick Guide to Federal Labor Law Compliance
Presented by: BRIAN CLEASBY, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist US DOL / Wage &Hour Division
An overview of three Acts enforced by the Wage & Hour Division: the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA); and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
The presentation will cover the minimum wage, overtime, child labor, and hours worked requirements under the FLSA, with a particular focus on the construction industry. The presentation will also include a brief overview of the requirements under the DBRA with respect to federal prevailing wage construction projects, and the employee job protection rights under the FMLA for employers with at least 50 workers.
